Gas System & Dryer Reset
If you experience a loss of gas, or if your dryer unit does not produce heat due to earthquakes, unforeseen events, or minor issues, you may perform a gas system reset for your suite.
How to reset.
Issues that may warrant a gas system reset
-
Dryer not producing heat
-
Stove burners or oven not working
-
Loss of hot water in bathroom
Steps:
1 - Go out into the hallway and open the utility closet. Identify your gas meter by locating the small gold-colored placard with your suite number on the upper right side of the gas meter.
2 - Cut off the gas by rotating the 'GAS VALVE' clockwise.
3 - Bleed out the residual gas remaining in your gas line. Go back into your suite, go to your kitchen stove, and press and hold one of the gas burner buttons until the stove flame goes out AND you hear a beep.
4 - Reopen your 'GAS VALVE'. Go back outside into the hallway and open the utility closet. Rotate the 'GAS VALVE' counterclockwise to its original position.
5 - Unscrew the protective cap covering the 'GAS RESET' button. Press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds. Recap the 'GAS RESET' button.
Note: When pushing the 'GAS RESET' button, the 'GAS RESET LIGHT' will blink in 10-second intervals until the system has completely reset itself in approximately 15 minutes.
6 - Until the gas system has completely reset itself, do NOT turn on the stove, the burners, or the dryer unit, and do NOT run any water.
